Drop in at the 7 Prez SK8 Jam on Saturday, May 10 (rain date May 11) from 8am-3pm at the Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park Skateplex, Ocean Avenue, Long Branch and enjoy amateur competitions, live music (1-3pm), and a pro skater demonstration (12:30-1pm). During the event, local skaters are invited to compete on the street course and in the bowl contest. See details. Registration for competition will be accepted at Skateplex on Thursday, May 8 from 5-7pm and on the day of the event starting at 8am. The cost to compete is $15 per skater per category. All participants must be registered at least 30 minutes before the start of their category. Event admission and parking are free. Here are some other activities you might enjoy:Family Game Night featuring our Rock Climbing Wall from 6-8:30pm on Friday, May 9 at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls. Bring the family and try our 25' rock climbing wall (from 6:30-7:30pm), play in the full-sized gym, and rediscover some classic board and table games. The cost is $15 per family (2-4 people); $5 each additional person. Cash or check only.Spring Migration Bird Watching Hike from 4:30-6:30pm on Monday, May 12 at Holmdel Park, Holmdel. Lace up your hiking boots, grab your binoculars, and join us for a hike (at least two miles) as we look for returning spring birds. Open to ages 12 and up, under 18 with an adult. Registration and fee required.Glow in the Park from 7:30-9pm on Friday, May 16 at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls. Ages 8-11 are invited to go on a scavenger hunt, play volleyball, conduct experiments and more using glow sticks, solar lights and other things that glow in the dark. Registration and fee required. Nature Princess from 2-3pm on Sunday, May 18 at the Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park Activity Center, Long Branch. Bring your little princess age 6-12 dressed in her regal attire and make a tiara and magic wand using materials found in nature. Registration and fee required.
