BEACHSIDE FAMILY FUN FOR THE OCEAN
CELEBRATE SUMMER’S ARRIVAL WITH GIDGET & MOONDOGGIE
Sandy Hook, NJ – Clean Ocean Action’s (COA) annual seaside fundraiser, Beach Party for the Ocean, will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2007, from 3-7 p.m. at the Ship Ahoy Beach Club in Sea Bright, NJ. Over 300 families from across the region will gather to celebrate COA’s ocean protection efforts.
“The Beach Party is waves of fun and kicks-off the summer season on the Jersey Shore. It is also a special time for families to reflect on the work that Clean Ocean Action has done to ensure that our ocean is safe for swimming, surfing, and fishing throughout the year,” said Louise Hall, Beach Party Event Chair.
Guests will dance to the classic surf rock music and enjoy fresh fare of treats and beverages. Other fun includes a Gidget and Moondoggie Look-a-Like Contest for all ages, 50/50 raffle, and chance and silent auctions with many unique prizes.
“During COA’s Beach Party we gather to celebrate the ocean’s beauty and to launch
a new beachy season of fun-filled memories spent with family and friends. As the trusted
voice for the ocean, we work, side by side, to protect our waters for today and tomorrow,”
said Cindy Zipf, COA’s Executive Director.
Event proceeds benefit Clean Ocean Action’s efforts to improve and protect the marine waters off the New Jersey/New York coast through research, education, and citizen action. COA was founded in 1984 in direct response to the devastating ocean pollution events of the 1980s.
Today, COA is a coalition of thousands of citizens dedicated to safeguarding the ocean.
The Beach Party is rain or shine—under the big top. Admission is $50 per adult and $25 per child under 12. Tickets may be purchased online at www.cleanoceanaction.org using MasterCard/Visa. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
