One of our favorite activities year-round is to stop at a local bar and grab a drink and a snack before heading home. In other terms, we love trying out the best Jersey Shore happy hours and exploring the best and tastiest deals!
Yes, they’re a great way to hang out with friends and coworkers, but they’re also an opportunity to try out a restaurant in a very inexpensive way. Since not all Jersey Shore happy hours are created equally, we’ve taken the liberty to do the research and have rounded up our favorites so you can get the best bang for your buck.
We’ve hit every aspect of happy hour, from the view, the booze, the food, and of course the most important question – is it a good deal? With these spots, it’s a resounding yes.

If it’s the middle of the week, you should be resting on a bar seat at Trama’s Trattoria. Happy Hour features complementary chef inspired hors d’oeuvres, half portions of pasta, vodka and gin drink specials produced by Asbury Park distillery, half price on select wines by the glass and bottled beer specials. Happy Hour is Tuesday thru Friday from 5pm to close. Bar area only. Local’s tip: Chef Pat is also bringing new custom burger creations to the bar for happy hour on Wednesdays! Not to be missed!
Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant

Whether it’s 90 and sunny out or 20 and snowing, Rooney’s is the spot to sip on a cocktail, eat some fancy appetizers like their PEI Mussels on special, and watch the waves come in. It’s our happy place. The specials for locals only gets better when summer is over at Rooney’s.

Head to this restaurant on the water on Sundays to kick off the work week with their all-day happy hour, or just celebrate any work day with their happy hours specials from 12-7pm. Take a little trip to Mexico without the airfare on Taco Tuesdays, where you’ll enjoy $5 tacos and $5 margaritas. Thirsty Thursdays give way to half price wines by the glass and there are plenty of food specials (including oysters – yes, even Happy Hours can be decadent!).

The lounge at Taka’s brand new location right on Cookman Avenue in downtown Asbury Park is one of our favorite new places to enjoy a much needed happy hour cocktail after work. Sit down at the bar for specials not only on the usual wine, vodka drinks, and of course Japanese beer, but also on Taka’s Sake Sangria. Just be sure to order a few rolls to go along with it so it doesn’t “sake” you out.

Mister C’s brings a lot to the table for Happy Hour. They offer some of the best ocean views in Monmouth County, $6 house martinis, $6 house wines, beer specials and some great $5 appetizers. Happy Hour at Mister C’s Beach Bistro goes from 3 to 7pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday? Its ALL DAY. Enjoy!

Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 7pm, have you choice of $2 domestic drafts, $3 domestic bottles, or $4 house wines, sangria, or well drinks. These deals are so tasty, we’re already planning on when we can come back!

And if you’re hungry, they even offer up $3 baskets of pub grub! Its a happy hour fit for an Irishman… or any man (or woman)!

If you’ve ever taken the train to or from Red Bank you’ve probably familiar with The Walt St. Pub. It’s a common watering hole for residents of Red Bank’s West Side, and for the unlucky (or dare we say lucky) NJ Transit riders who missed their train. WSP is exactly what you’d want in a watering hole; unpretentious, cheap beer and some great sandwiches! With happy hour specials like $2 domestic drafts, we may have to “miss” our train a few more times!
