Ideas to Keep Little Kids Busy During a Move
While the professionals are there at your home loading your possessions, kids need to stay busy so they can avoid getting in the way. Here are a few ideas!
1. Let your kids go to a friend’s house.
This can be a great way to get your kids out of the house so they’re not underfoot. Most kids will enjoy this option, as they are going to be having fun with their friend and couldn’t care less that you have professional movers in the house.
2. Hire a babysitter.
While you may be at your home during this move, you still need an extra set of hands and an extra set of eyes! Hire a babysitter to deal with the younger children. They can go to the park, for a walk around the block or do another fun activity that will keep them out of the way.
3. Plan activities for them to do.
Don’t assume your kids are going to entertain themselves while you are getting everything moved. Instead, keep a small box full of activities for your little ones to do – for example, coloring books, a tablet for watching educational shows, books to read and the like. You want something that is going to allow them to curl up in a corner and entertain themselves during the move. |
