Learn backyard composting
Residents can reduce waste and improve soil
FREEHOLD – The Monmouth County Planning Board has announced its spring 2010 Backyard Composting schedule for Monmouth County residents. The advance registration sessions to learn how to reduce yard and household waste and to improve your soil are as follows:

Monday, April 12 at 7 p.m. – Tinton Falls Municipal Building, 556 Tinton Ave., Tinton Falls

Sunday, April 18 at 10 a.m. – Deep Cut Gardens, 352 Red Hill Rd., Middletown

Thursday, April 29 at 7 p.m. – Freehold Township Municipal Building, One Municipal Plaza, Room 114, Freehold Township.

Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. – Manasquan Recreation Annex, 67 Atlantic Ave., Manasquan
There is no charge to attend the workshops, but space is limited and advance registration is required. Register by calling 732-431-7460 or by downloading the registration form from the
recycling section of the county Web site at
www.visitmonmouth.com
Participants may purchase an Earth Machine, a home composting bin, at the session for $25.
