Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo will provide an update on the closing of Fort Monmouth and all borough residents are encouraged to attend.
As September approaches and brings with it the official closing of Fort Monmouth, Eatontown residents are faced with many unanswered questions: Will they gain an a much-needed running track and lacrosse field? What roads will be affected by the closure? What type of security will be put in place when fort personnel are gone?
On Tuesday, borough residents will have the opportunity to pose these questions at a town meeting organized by the man with extensive knowledge of the issues: Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority member and Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on June 7 in the council room at Borough Hall and all residents and welcomed and enouraged to attend, according to the borough's Web site.
This is the second informational meeting held on the impact of the fort's closing, with the previous session held in April.
